Hand-pressed tortillas. Slow-braised carnitas. Salsas built from scratch every morning. We cook the way mamá taught us — and serve it with a cold mezcal sour and a bowl of chips that never empties.
Lupitas began in 2019 as a tiny corner shop selling the tortillas, salsas and sweets we missed from home. Word spread. The line for street tacos out the back door grew longer than the line at the till.
So we did the only sensible thing — we opened a restaurant. Same family. Same recipes. Bigger kitchen, longer mezcal list, room for everyone.
The mercado still hums across the street. The restaurant is two blocks down. Both belong to the same kitchen and the same hearts.

Flour tortilla, rice, frijoles, slow-braised meat, salsa fresca, queso, lettuce. Cut in two. Comes with chips and roasted tomato salsa.
Three rolled corn tortillas filled with chicken or cheese, smothered in tangy tomatillo-jalapeño salsa, crema, queso fresco.
